Welcome to the Ancestral Hunting School Flagship Cow Elk offering, taking place in Northern Colorado, December 4-6, 2025 or December 11-13. This unique online and hands-on experience is designed to teach you the essentials about hunting, butchering and processing big game animals while connecting to the land, animals and ultimately yourself.
The Flagship Cow Elk Hunting School by Ancestral Hunting School, founded by Ken Conte, is an invitation for those who want to be connected with their food, be more self-reliant and learn the skills necessary to thrive in the outdoors. We teach everything from basic survival skills to spotting big game, how to walk in the woods quietly, ancestral skills, effective kill zone and how to use every part of the animal. This is hands on and you will have a coach with you out in the field. We have access to thousands of private acres in Colorado and will be staying on property, where you will have lodging and all your meals will be provided.
You can expect to come out of this experience with a new appreciation for your food, the land and a sense of being more self-sufficient. This will ripple out into the rest of your world with potential outcomes including reverence for food, connection to nature, better concentration through long times in nature, attention to detail through firearms safety and emotional regulation through being able to ramp up and slow down when needed.
